Life without sports

For most people in this world sports was a major way to let go of their everyday life and watching a sporting event for a of hours to forget about all of their problems. For me life without sports so far has been kinda weird. Playing and watching sports has been a part of my life every since I can remember, it has made in into of those die hard sports fans for their teams of choosing. Opening day of baseball for the Texas Rangers should have already started and to me I believe that opening day should be a national holiday. Many people get lost in the sport due to it being Americas past time and it can bring people together like no other sport can. Don’t believe me, just watch a Red Sox game and wait for the 7th inning stretch and the whole crowd is singing “Sweet Caroline” at the top or their lungs or at a Cubs game and they sing “Take me out to the Ballpark”. This is what makes baseball such a great sport. We need it back and we need it back now!

Online classes

Switching to online classes was a smart move by Southeastern because it was in the best interest of the students that go there. The only problem i had with that is how fast they shut down the campus and graduation so quickly. As a senior at Southeastern I have been looking forward to graduation since the beginning of this semester. Since they canceled graduation i felt as if my motivation for the remainder of the semester took a hit because this was my way of proving to myself that I have accomplished something in life. I also promised my wife when i got my Bachelors degree then i would walk across that stage but since i can’t anymore i feel as if i am letter her down. I know that I am not though because at the end of the day i will still get my Bachelors degree.

Life in quarantine

My wife is a teacher and my son was in his first year of kindergarten so it has taken some adjusting to the quarantine life as been a great and a frustrating experience to say the least. It took us some time to figure out a daily schedule that works for all of us, but now we are hitting our stride and it has been awesome to get to spend some much needed family time. We are in the process of potty training our daughter and lets just say she is a hand full when it comes to going “tee tee” in the potty but, thankfully for marshmallows and chocolate as a great bargaining tool. Before this whole pandemic started I did not get to spend that much time with my family, while they were at school I was at home and then when i was at work they were at home. So, now I get to spend my mornings hanging out with my wife and kids. We get to go for walks, play in the backyard, eat lunch and breakfast together, and play fetch with the dog. So, you can life is going good for us so far.

Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers are heading into a brand new season this year and in a whole new stadium. There is a lot of hopes this year for the Rangers that they have a better season that the prior two seasons. While in the off season they added new pitching to the rotation but can that be enough to get them over the hump? To me, the answer is NO! The reason that is, is because once again John Daniels strikes out of the offense side of the plate. The Rangers needed to add another strong bat to the lineup but once again they fall short. Hopefully they can pull off an in-season trade but I would not hold my breath on it.
